Alabama Senate Approves Medical Marijuana
Published on
Alabama is one step closer to becoming the 34th state to legalize medical marijuana.
Having undergone debate earlier this week, the bill sponsored by Sen. Tim Melson (R‑Florence) went up for a vote this morning. The Senate voted 17 – 6 to approve it.
Now the bill will head to the House of Representatives for approval.
“I just think it’s the right thing to do,” Sen. Melson said earlier in the week. “It’s time. A lot of literature out there that shows that this works. Let’s give it a chance.”
