Marijuana Website Offers Free Cannabis to Government Workers During Shutdown

Published on

As the federal government shutdown continues as the longest in U.S. history, one marijuana website has offered a very useful service for employees during this time.

BudTrader.com, an online cannabis marketplace that calls itself the Craigslist of Weed,” is offering free medical marijuana to government workers who can’t afford it during the shutdown. Approximately 800,000 workers are currently affected by the government shutdown, and BudTrader has consulted attorneys to ensure that they can donate the maximum amount of free cannabis possible without violating any laws.

I don’t think federal employees are getting enough love and support, in these tough times, we want to extend the offer of a donation of medical cannabis to any federal worker affected by the shutdown,” said BudTrader CEO Brad McLaughlin.

BudTrader is one of many businesses that has offered free services to government workers. Celebrity chefs and food manufacturers have opened up stores to allow workers to receive free food during the shutdown. But BudTrader is the first to offer free cannabis to workers.

Although, it’s not clear how many workers will actually accept the gift. Cannabis is still illegal by the federal government, so we’re guessing government workers may have some slightly more strict drug tests than other businesses.
