3 Million Canadians are getting Cannabis for Christmas — Are You One Of Them?

Published on

There’s a very good chance you might find cannabis in your stocking this year.

That’s because 10% of adults plan to give cannabis this holiday season, according to the numbers crunched by Lift & Co, who surveyed 1,512 legal-aged Canadians about their gift-giving. Roughly scaled, they predict that this will equal out to 3 million gifts of legal weed exchanged in the country this season.

It isn’t particularly surprising that Canadians will be gifting weed to their friends and family during the first legal Christmas season, but even so, the sheer volume that the numbers show is pretty staggering.

The organization was able to track some other factors as well, like that male respondents are twice as likely to gift marijuana than women, and that Alberta and Manitoba will see the most cannabis gift-giving, while Quebec will see the least.

Also — surprise, surprise — it is the millennials, aged 18 – 34, that are planning to do the most weed-related gift giving.

So, could Santa have something in his big, green bag of goodies for you this year? Signs point to yes. Also, if you’re planning to give the gift of cannabis this year, we have a few suggestions.
