Nick Young Reveals Which NBA Coach Rolls the Best Joints in the League

Published on

Denver Nuggets shooting guard Nick Young (aka Swaggy P) let it slip that five-time NBA Championship winner and current Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr rolls a joint unlike anyone else in pro basketball. Even if that might not be true.

There are plenty of NBA stars who have admitted their love for the herb. In fact, guys like Matt Barnes and Al Harrington have credited cannabis for helping them up their game. But apparently the players aren’t the only people in pro basketball who enjoy a puff away from the court.

On a recent appearance on The Damon Bruce Show’, Nick Young revealed that his former coach at the Golden State Warriors was the man to go to for the perfect joint.

Can I ask a very personal, yet very serious and important question? Who rolls the best blunt in the NBA?” Bruce asked Young. Who can twist it up better than anyone?”

Young hesitated at first, saying that would be snitching.” He’s right of course, and if he gave out any names he could potentially get those players in trouble for violating the NBA’s strict cannabis policies. So Bruce rephrased the question and asked Young which retired player was the best joint roller.

To that, Young said it was probably Steve Kerr,” the Golden State Warriors’ head coach.

Young pegging Kerr as the league’s best joint roller is a little questionable however. While Kerr is a vocal supporter of updating the league’s cannabis policies and has even admitted to trying medical marijuana in the past, it doesn’t appear that Kerr is currently a cannabis consumer.

I’m not a pot person. It doesn’t agree with me. I tried it a few times, and it did not agree with me at all. So I’m not the expert on this stuff. But I do know this: If you’re an NFL player, in particular, and you got lot of pain, I don’t think there’s any question that pot is better for your body than Vicodin,” Kerr said back in 2016. And yet, athletes everywhere are prescribed Vicodin like it’s Vitamin C, like it’s no big deal. And there’s like this perception in our country that over-the-counter drugs are fine but pot is bad. Now, I think that’s changing.”

So while Kerr may not be remembered for his joint rolling skills in the same way he is for making three pointers, Swaggy P is likely to continue to be the NBA’s internet meme lord.
